Aquarius season tarot spread
/If things have been feeling slow and sticky, you aren't alone. We began the year with both Mercury and Mars retrograde. And even though they are now both direct, it will still take some time for them to build up speed.
When planets stand still in the sky, it can feel like we're stuck in between gears, or like we're hitting a wall. No matter how hard we try, we can't make progress. The trick in these moments is to stop pushing and let things take the time they take.
Things will start to get easier as Aquarius season continues, I promise.
Aquarius season begins around 3am (ET) on Janaury 20. We kick things off with a New Moon at 1° Aquarius on January 21. This also coincides with Venus conjoining Saturn in Aquarius at 24° (exact on January 22). This is a pretty somber and melancholy new moon. A necessary ending, a cycle of completion, a wrapping up.
Because the Moon and Venus are involved, this feels very emotional, personal and relational. Maybe you realize you've grown distant from a friend and are coming to terms with that change. Maybe you realize you need to make more room in your life for your family and spend less time out with friends. Maybe you're slowly accepting that staying up late watching TV and playing Animal Crossing leaves you super groggy and tired the next morning and maybe you should not do that? (it's me, hi, i'm the problem, it's me.)
Endings aren't always bad. Often, the endings that Saturn brings forward are things that we're holding onto out of habit or because we're afraid of change or because we like to avoid confrontation. Try to remember that every "no" also contains a "yes" — when you say no to hanging out with friends, you say yes to more time for yourself. when you say "no" to TV, you say "yes" to reading in bed for longer. On the other side of a difficult conversation is relief at finally clearing the air.
Things will start to feel a bit lighter and more vibrant as Aquarius season continues, I promise. As time goes on, Mercury and Mars will begin to speed up and we'll see to feel more movement and action. Venus moves into Pisces on January 27 and that will feel really lovely. So don't despair, good things are coming!
